The chateau de raay is a converted castle, originally built in 1326 and used as a monastery from 1937, lovingly restored to include gorgeous castle walls, original staircases, wooden ceilings, natural floorings and authentic ornaments and furnishings. The chateau is situated eight kilometres from the museums and attractions of venlo. The 51 guestrooms possess décor in fresh cream and white, with shaker style furnishings in painted wood, period details such as beamed ceilings, and original works of art. All guestrooms have safes, two telephones, high speed internet connections, coffee and tea making facilities, satellite television with movie channels and bathrooms with designer toiletries and hair dryers.
