In the very heart of dokkum, the idyllic, historical heartland of northern friesland, hotels de posthoorn is situated. De posthoorn is only ten minutes away from the lauwersoog recreation area, a real paradise for swimmers and windsurfers. De posthoorn with its southfacing terrace and extremely comfy accommodation, is a jumping-off purpose for the west frisian islands of schiermonnikoog and ameland. Dokkum, the centre for water sports, the 'terp' route of antique mounds and, in the winter, skating. You can canoe in the nice ambience of dokkum. There is also a subtropical swimmingparadise and a manège. For such purposes de posthoorn offers a broad range of possibilities: rooms for 200, 80 or 10 persons with plenteous parking less than four minutes away. Breakfastroom recently renovated, carpet has been replaced!

Hotel de posthoorn is situated in the idyllic antique city centre of dokkum. The hotel has a large terrace on the canals and is an ideal starting purpose for a daytrip to the west-frisian islands ameland and schiermonnikoog. The "lauwersmeer" (a large amusement lake), a real paradise for swimmers, sailers, kite- and windsurfers, is only 10 minutes by car from the hotel. In and around dokkum you will find enough activities for a relaxing as well as an energetic holiday. The hotel is also very pertinent for business stays (early breakfast, lunchpackages, day menu).
